Hurricane Season: June 1-November 30. Sarasota has been very fortunate to dodge full-on hurricanes for many years, but in recent years there was significant damage. Now is the time to make sure all your important papers are collected, and have them ready to pick up in case you need to leave your house suddenly. Take dated pictures and videos of the entire property, inside and out, for insurance purposes.
